Product Management is an elusive craft, and a PM career path can be very challenging to navigate. While it is relatively easy nowadays to break into the field and move up to a Sr. PM, figuring out what is next and how to get there might be tricky. However, career planning does not have to be a burden.
I put together this guide to introduce and define available PM career tracks, remove ambiguity and help product managers make intentional and empowered decisions when choosing their next role, company, and manager. Identifying ways to grow in our careers might feel very heavy; my hope with this resource is to ease the weight of the unknown and add playfulness to your career planning process.
I wish I had a guide like this a few years ago when I was stuck in a Sr. PM role. It would have saved me years, helped me avoid making unnecessary decisions, and empowered me to proactively seek the role I deserved.
